Asian American Writing & Performance (Hour 1)
We discuss the world of Asian American literature, from new trends, emerging authors, subjects people are writing about, and programming at the Workshop this spring.
We chat with Ed Lin, author of This is a Bust, a funny, gritty take on Chinatown in the 1970s. We hear from Jen Kwok, who tells us what she finds funny, how she got into comedy, and a few songs which tell stories of love, toothbrushes, and being stuck in an Asian body. Together Ed and Jen will be hosting an Open Mic at the Asian American Writers' Workshop called Mouth to Mouth, beginning Friday, February 12, 2010.
And we hear from Ken Chen, Executive Director at the AAWW, on upcoming events, a new workshop called Making Friends with Your Writing, and trends in APIA literature.
